PACIA - Chemicals and Plastics Industry Training Program

The Chemicals and Plastics program is an initiative by Monash Science and Monash Engineering in conjunction with the Plastics and Chemicals Industries Association (PACIA). Funding of $5.9M from both the Victorian State Government and over twenty industry players has supported formation of the Chemicals and Plastics Innovation Network, of which the training program is an integral part. The program aims to prepare PhD graduates for a career in the chemical industry, jump starting opportunities for global investment, innovation, productivity, job creation and economic growth. Working on a challenging PhD topic closely associated with and supported by an industry partner, students receive supervision and mentorship from Monash academics and industry experts, enjoy support and training delivered jointly with industry, and experience an internship of at least 3 months, mentored by exceptional industry leaders.
The cohort of graduates is expected to take the Network forward into the future and the initiative is expected to deliver outcomes to many other businesses associated with the collaboration.
